The city in Henan Province is famous for spectacular finds of oracle bones, which are considered the first evidence of Chinese writing in the Shang Dynasty (ca. 1,600-1,046 BC). Anyang has become an important archaeological site and the location of the National Museum of Chinese Writing. This week a new section of the museum opened.
