The Russian invasion of Ukraine continues to overshadow everything. What is China’s position on the Ukraine conflict? It is true that several tendencies are currently mixed up, and contradictory reports follow one another. But on closer inspection, China is following a concept that can be explained. One thing is certain: Xi Jinping is solely concerned with China’s rise. Russia is at best a useful troublemaker, testing the resolve of the Western alliance and at the same time making itself dependent on its remaining partner in the East.
