China’s growing influence is currently worrying the German government. In an interview with Table.Media, Franziska Brantner, State Secretary for Economic Affairs, argues that investment guarantees should not be granted if ethical or labor standards are not met in production in a region. However, she does not want German companies to withdraw completely from the Chinese market.
