The USA is pushing the EU on the issue of forced labor. In the future, the Americans want to have goods confiscated at the border whose clean origin cannot be clearly proven. Europe now fears that it will be the global dumping ground for products made with forced labor. The ethically correct solution is to have its own controls. Amelie Richter describes what the European Parliament has decided in this regard.
