She wants to examine the extent to which China’s subsidy policy unfairly favors Chinese EV manufacturers due to alleged distortions of competition. After all, the native of Lower Saxony, whose father once served on the board of Volkswagen while he was the state’s prime minister, wants to protect Europeans from the impending influx of Chinese EVs, already poised to enter the market.
