Chinese cinemas are increasingly showing „classics“ again these days. However, this does not mean „Gone with the Wind“ or „Psycho“ by Alfred Hitchcock, but rather propaganda films, which above all let the Chinese Communist Party shine in all its glory. However, this particular „genre“ does have its pitfalls: Even star directors like Zhang Yimou attract only a few viewers to the cinemas with such films.
