Some people are skeptical about the boom in electric drives and see hydrogen as a far more promising alternative. Accordingly, Christian Domke Seidel took a look at how far China has already come in the field of hydrogen mobility. After all, at the Olympic Games in Beijing, the smooth operation of hydrogen-powered buses and shuttles was touted with great publicity. But a closer look reveals that Beijing’s hydrogen plans are ambitious. But hydrogen is not likely to be used for cars in the near future. The energy is currently needed in other areas.
