Executive Moves

Barbara Pongratz has joined Germanwatch e.V. in April as Policy Advisor for Sino-German energy and climate diplomacy. In this role, she deals with sustainable transformation in the context of Sino-German relations. At the same time, she has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Intercultural and International Studies (InIIS) at the University of Bremen since January 2024, where she focuses on international relations and China research. From 2020 to 2023, Pongratz worked at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin, most recently as an analyst. She has also held positions at the Körber Foundation and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
