‘Despite the China debate, investment is increasing there’

German direct investments in China are at an almost all-time high. Economist Juergen Matthes explains in an interview with Amelie Richter that this should not automatically lead to conclusions about Germany’s general dependence. However, Matthes emphasizes dependency must be discussed in any case. To this end, he believes that the use of economic data by the German central bank must be more transparent.
