After over four years, China’s travel sanctions against four incumbent EU parliamentarians and other members of the European Parliament committee are now history. The partial lifting of the Chinese sanctions had been on the horizon for some time. However, the European Parliament Presidency’s official statement on Wednesday left many things open. Roberta Metsola merely referred to the decision by the Chinese authorities „to lift sanctions on members of the European Parliament as well as on its subcommittee on human rights.“
