‘Global Gateway’ – Brussels answer to the Silk Road

What always resonated around „Global Gateway“, but was rarely openly mentioned, now found a clear answer at the official presentation of the infrastructure initiative of the EU Commission: „Yes, definitely. We are able to do that,“ said EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in response to the question whether the program could compete with China’s „Belt and Road“ initiative. „Countries made their experience with the Chinese investments.
