Even before things had really started, it seems China’s capital withdrew the first attempts at compulsory vaccination. Apparently, public opinion was too strong. Say what now?

Officially, the July 6 not ice is still in effect: Proof of vaccination is required in the health app to enter public spaces, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission announced. The rule was to take effect this Monday, July 11. It was seen as the first step toward compulsory vaccination. At the very least, such a rule would have been a test balloon for acceptance of tying participation in public life to vaccination status.
