Candidates and delegates are being slandered and threatened, misinformation about the conference is being spread, and the organization’s operational capacity is being hindered by cyberattacks. It is unclear who is behind the manipulation. However, the Uyghurs suspect the Chinese state apparatus is pulling the strings.
