For years, there have been calls for reciprocity in German-Chinese economic relations. Time and again, German companies have complained about unequal treatment by Chinese authorities. The head of foreign trade at the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), Volker Treier, also calls for a level playing field. This time, however, his appeal is addressed in the opposite direction – to the next German government.
