China and the USA are fighting for supremacy not only at the border between airspace and outer space, but also in outer space itself. The People’s Republic has been running a permanent space station since the end of 2022, and two astronauts carried out their first spacewalk around the beginning of 2023. This means that mankind now operates two permanent habitable outposts in space.
