Just before China’s biggest car show in Shanghai, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun faces one of his hardest tests. In late March, a Xiaomi SU7 crashed into a construction site barrier in Anhui province while in autopilot mode, killing three people. The authorities are still investigating. In response, Xiaomi’s shares temporarily fell by more than 20 percent.
