The Chinese artist was under placed house arrest and was not allowed to leave the country for of his anti-government statements. „I asked him if it was of any use if Western politicians would come to China and address human rights.“ He had replied that it was the only thing that gave people like him hope. The conversation moved her deeply and to this day remains „a mission“ to stand up for human rights.
