There is room for 20 million books in the Chinese National Library in Beijing. It is the third largest library in the world and at the same time a „living room of the city,“ where young and old meet to learn and read, and simply enjoy meeting each other, describes Thomas Busse the building. The architect is Managing Director at the architectural firm KSP Engel International, which designed the library. He lived in Beijing for five years, accompanied the construction and pushed other projects such as the Nanjing Art Museum.
