British to join CPTPP agreement

Britain wants to join the trans-Pacific trade agreement CPTPP, announced the Minister for International Trade, Liz Truss, according to reports from the news agencies AFP and dpa. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) free trade area includes 11 countries so far. It includes the markets of Australia, Canada, Chile, Mexico and Japan, among others. China is not a member of the agreement. The agreement was launched in response to the US withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade agreement.
