China intends to deepen its cooperation with the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Nepal – much to the chagrin of its major rival, India. Just a few months ago, Beijing achieved a strategic victory in the struggle for dominance in the Indian Ocean.

China will further enhance its cooperation with the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Nepal. A Chinese military delegation has been traveling in the past ten days in the three countries to discuss matters in the military and defense sectors.
