In China, 15.8 percent of tests conducted in selected public hospitals during the week ending May 4 were positive, up from 6.3 percent at the end of March, according to the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Nearly 170,000 cases were reported in April, with 340 severe cases and nine deaths.
