The BEV sales of Chinese car manufacturer BYD overtook US electric carmaker Tesla for the first time in the European car market in April. This is revealed by the latest figures from the analysis firm Jato. With 7,231 newly registered electric cars, BYD ranked tenth and increased by 169 percent compared to the previous year. Tesla sold 7,165 vehicles in the same period, putting it in eleventh place. Volkswagen sold the most electric cars in the same period (23,514), followed by BMW (14,867) and Škoda (13,598).
