According to Radio Free Asia, Chinese construction workers, teachers and factory workers have been protesting in various parts of the country over the past few days. Pictures of the protests have been circulating online. The protests were sparked by growing public anger over new fees that local authorities have come up with in an attempt to balance their tight budgets. „From China’s northern province of Hebei to the southern autonomous region of Guanxi, bordering Vietnam, and its neighboring coastal province of Guangdong to the east – Chinese workers are facing the full impact of cash-strapped institutions,“ the report said.
