The German Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office pressed charges against Jian G., the former aide of AfD politician Maximilian Krah, as well as an alleged accomplice. The two accused are „sufficiently suspected“ of having worked as agents for a Chinese intelligence service. Jian G. worked as an aide to the then-MEP Krah in his parliamentary office from September 2019 until his arrest in April 2024. During this time, he allegedly gained access to documents classified as sensitive on several occasions, including internal information on negotiations and decisions of the European Parliament. Until her arrest in September 2024, his accomplice, Yaqi X., had worked for a logistics company that provided services including at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
