Rolf Mützenich, leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in the German parliament, will assume the role of chief China rapporteur. This has been confirmed by the parliamentary group. Mützenich, a distinguished figure in foreign policy, will thus become more involved in the SPD’s China strategy at a time of growing geopolitical tensions.
