According to media reports, the German Embassy in China has contacted the Chinese Foreign Ministry anddemanded the „immediate release“ of blogger Zhang Zhan. The imprisoned citizen journalist was sentenced to a four-year prison term at the end of last year and has been on hunger strike for several weeks. Zhang is accused of „provoking controversy and stirring up trouble“ with her independent reporting on the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.
