The CDU/CSU and SPD have presented their coalition agreement – and China, the geopolitical situation and economic dependencies are clearly reflected in it. In the document, the People’s Republic is primarily labeled a systemic rival. Cooperation with China is still intended on global challenges where mutual interests align. In general, China policy is to be coordinated with the EU and other EU member states. Many of the terms used are modeled after EU language regarding China.
