The main defendant, Ng Chi-hung, received a prison sentence of 23 years and 10 months. It is the harshest sentence ever handed down by a Hong Kong court in connection with the mass protests in 2019. Ng and six co-defendants were accused of planning a bomb attack intended to kill police officers.
