According to a report from Manager Magazin, the Chinese online retailer JD.com has expressed interest in acquiring the German electronics chains MediaMarkt and Saturn. One of the current owners, the investment company Haniel, has long been expecting a higher return on capital from Ceconomy, the operator of both retail chains.
