China has set new renewable energy targets for each of its provinces. All provinces, except Tibet, have been given annual targets for how high the share of green electricity should be by 2030. So far, the targets are plans, and the provinces have until February 26 to provide feedback, according to the business magazine Caixin. At the national level, the share of renewable energy – hydropower, wind, Solar, and biomass – should reach 40 percent of electricity consumption by 2030.
