As the Goethe-Institut in Berlin announced on Tuesday, the Chinese German scholar and linguist Li Yuan will be awarded the Goethe Medal. Li, who heads the Faculty of Asian and European Languages, the Institute for German Studies and the Center for Global Competence at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, is being honored for her outstanding achievements in the field of intercultural understanding.
