The parent company of e-commerce retailer Temu has been hit by declining demand in its Chinese home market. The net profit of Pinduoduo Holdings declined by almost half to 14.74 billion yuan (approximately 1.8 billion euros) in the first quarter, as announced on Tuesday. Revenue came to just under 96 billion yuan, well below analysts’ expectations of around 102 billion yuan.
