Trade talks in Geneva: Washington mentions deal

China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng met with US Secretary of Commerce Scott Bessent, among others, in Geneva.

According to Jamieson Greer, negotiators from China and the USA have reached a deal to reduce the US trade deficit. During a joint appearance with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in Geneva on Sunday, the US Trade Representative expressed confidence that „the deal we struck with our Chinese partners“ would help reduce the US’s international trade deficit of 1.2 trillion dollars.
