Ukraine is in close contact with the Chinese government regarding two Chinese citizens who were captured in eastern Ukraine. This was confirmed by Heorhii Tykhyi, spokesman for the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, at a press briefing on Wednesday. The two men had fought on the side of the Russian army. A Chinese diplomat had already been summoned to the Foreign Ministry last week to discuss the case. Tykhyi emphasized that the incident could strain bilateral relations between the governments in Kyiv and Beijing.
