They are the only films nominated for the 2024 Oscars to pass the „climate test“ conducted by the nonprofit consulting firm Good Energy. Only these three works feature the climate crisis in any form. In all other films, it doesn’t even play a supporting role. Between 2016 and 2020, the climate crisis appeared in only 2.8 percent of all TV shows and films in the USA. The word „dog“ is mentioned 13 times more frequently in screenplays.
