Meanwhile, major US companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Meta are launching new projects for compensation certificates. However, criticism of voluntary CO2 offsets remains persistent, as demonstrated by the difficulties faced by Switzerland in achieving many of its compensation goals.
