The 59-year-old is the deputy director general at the Federation of German Industries (BDI). „Politicians have to set the goals and the framework.“ A good example, he says, is the US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). With „pragmatic tax credits,“ the Biden administration is making the US „one of the most competitive places in the world for green hydrogen production,“ Lösch says. Germany and Europe need an „effective response“ to the IRA, Lösch said, referring to the further development of Germany’s national hydrogen strategy, which the BDI considers disappointing.
