The EU Commission wants to support South Africa with an investment package of EUR 4.7 billion as part of its Global Gateway program. The funds are to flow primarily into the energy transition in South Africa (EUR 4.4 billion), as EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Thursday at the EU-South Africa Summit in Cape Town.
