Energy consumption in Germany saw a surprisingly sharp rise in the first three months of the year. According to preliminary calculations by the Working Group on Energy Balances (AG Energiebilanzen), primary energy consumption reached 3,151 petajoules (PJ) in the first quarter of 2025, up by 5.5 percent year-on-year.
