In Austria, the new government sworn in on Monday will also see the previously influential climate action ministry broken up. In the future, the environment and climate will be part of the Ministry of Agriculture, which is led by the conservative ÖVP party. The Ministry of Economics, which is also under ÖVP leadership, will be responsible for energy. Transport will move to the Ministry of Infrastructure under the Social Democratic SPÖ. The new coalition also includes the liberal Neos party.
