Important for climate action and adaptation to the consequences of global warming: moorland landscape in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

At the three-day continuation of the World Conference on Nature (COP16) in Rome late on Thursday evening, the states agreed on a roadmap to develop a financial structure for the period after 2030 at the next two meetings. They also agreed on a mechanism to monitor and evaluate their progress in nature conservation. The Cali Fund was launched at the start of the conference, into which companies are also expected to contribute. In a survey conducted by the German Science Media Center, researchers were generally positive about the results, but still see unanswered questions regarding the actual provision of funds.
