Climate levy for ships: US withdraws from IMO negotiations with threats.

The USA has left the negotiations on a climate levy on shipping emissions, which have been ongoing since February under the umbrella of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and is actively trying to hinder an agreement between the other IMO member states. This has been reported unanimously by several information services, citing a US letter that was apparently sent to the London embassies of all IMO members.
