Over 10,700 scientists have so far signed an open appeal by Scientist for Future (S4F) calling for a stronger commitment to climate action by the upcoming government and during the coalition negotiations. They warn that the climate crisis has hardly played a role in the election campaign, although this and other environmental crises are „the greatest medium-term threat to security, the economy and prosperity, democracy, civilization and human life.“ With more than 300 signatories, a particularly large number of the scientists come from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
