Due to the increasing drought in Europe, the EU Commission wants to make people more aware of water scarcity and encourage them to save water. A water strategy is to be presented before the summer, EU Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall told the Funke Mediengruppe newspaper. According to Roswall, the aim is to reduce water consumption: „We know that we use too much water. We need an awareness of the problem and a new attitude towards water,“ said the Commissioner.
