Steven Guilbeault, Canada’s climate and environment minister and former Greenpeace activist, wants to persuade the fossil fuel industry to invest its profits in decarbonization.

The Canadian government recently published a draft regulation to reduce emissions from the oil and gas sector by 2030 to 35 percent below 2019 levels.
