The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will no longer require companies to disclose their greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks. This was announced by its acting chairman Mark T. Uyeda earlier this week. The disclosure requirement was introduced in March 2024 under the previous government. Several companies and Republican-governed states had filed a lawsuit against it.
