Clear the stage for round three. For the third time in three years, three or more candidates are vying for the chairmanship of the CDU. This time the candidates entering the race will be: Friedrich Merz, Jens Spahn, Norbert Röttgen. And the surprise guest on this stage: the re-elected parliamentary party leader of the CDU/CSU Ralph Brinkhaus. They all believe they can renew the party and do not seem to find blame for the election debacle in themselves.
