Diederik Samsom, former Head of Cabinet of Executive Commission Vice-President Frans Timmermans, is to become Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Gasunie. Samsom was the right-hand man of Timmermans, who was responsible for the Green Deal in the first Von der Leyen Commission. Gasunie is a state-owned gas company in the Netherlands.
