Christian Schmidt is the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The High Representative of the international community, Christian Schmidt, is calling for the EU’s Bosnia protection force Eufor/Althea to be strengthened – including with German soldiers. In an interview with Markus Bickel, he also warns that the EU should not take too long to decide whether to join.

Mr. Schmidt, In November 1995, the Dayton Peace Accords were signed at the US airbase of the same name in Ohio. You are the eighth High Representative to help Bosnia and Herzegovina get on the path to democracy. Isn’t almost 30 years a bit long for that?
