If all goes well, the European Parliament’s Industry Committee (ITRE) and Defense Committee (SEDE) will today take the European Defence Industrial Program (EDIP) an important step forward. After months of delay, the responsible committees have reached a compromise. The funding criteria for joint procurements have been agreed on a share of at least 70% of European origin. The Budget Committee (BUDG), which was also involved, succeeded in ensuring that the funds for EDIP could be significantly increased in line with the European Parliament’s position.
